Motorsport Division is a auto repair shop which specializes in BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Volvo & Volkswagen. Founded in 1995 with a specific goal to provide superior service in the auto repair industry. Located in San Mateo , we provide automotive services to European cars in the entire Bay Area.
Today we're going to give you a quick look around the Division 1 Supercart that we've prepared for the 2020 race season. Obviously there's been a bit of a delay with that, but we've done loads of testing prior to the problems with COVID-19. We'll just give you a quick look at some of the t Firstly, we've equipped the cart with full carbon fibre bodywork including race seat, all supplied by Russell Anderson from the UK and s We've managed to shave almost 10 kilos off the cart with carbon fibre bodywork and also with titani But then we've added some extra weight with a few data logging t We've added a quick release system to the steering wheel we've also added an AIM MXS dash and data logging system w That gives us the extra benefits of being able to use a n We're also logging lambda for both cylinders. A depth counter via APHL systems is also logged as well as the normal EGT. That helps us to cross reference the different logging channels and hopefully catch any issues or problems with them happening. We also have had an RtD ignition box specially done for us by Ian Harrison at Viper which gives us a n The ignition system is running off one battery and all of the logging system is running off another. The lambda sensors heat up to 800 degrees and take a lot of battery power and you don't want to lose your ignition if you've forgotten to charge it for any reason. So walking around the rest of the cart we're also utilising an AIM Smarticam system we've played around with the Cush driver a little bit, made some changes there. Also we have basically changed the setup a little bit to benefit someone who's 6 at 3, i. e. myself. So we've had to adjust everyt So we've tested lots and we log every single session that we do and we make changes every single time and log the results of those. As you can see we have t So other than that we had to make some custom dashboard parts to take all the new dash. And yeah we've utilised ceramic bearings, titani Yeah so it's been a painstaking effort but we're happy with the results and hopefully the end of 2020 we'll get to do some races. And us as a team, that's Keith Taylor who's done the majority of the work with myself in the workshop. Ian Wilts He's very good on set up at the track and together we make a pretty good team.
