Hi, my name is John Sykes. I'm the director of golf and instruction at Holly Tree Country Club in Tyler, Texas. And today's tip is going to be on how to hit great tee shots. One of the things I really believe in is that you've got to envision the shot that you want to hit and get comfortable with what it looks Take a target, stay focused on the target and don't deter from that mark. And with that in mind, one of the things that's really important is you use the options of teeing up on the left side or the right side of the tee box to allow you to get the vision that you want so that you'll be confident going into the shot. For the tip of the day on pace of play, make sure that you've already gone ahead and evaluated the tee box to see which side that you think you might want to tee up on. And then also go ahead and start picking out your target. So go ahead and start giving that image in your mind as you're looking, as your playing competitors are hitting their shot. And then once you're through, grab your bag and start down the fairway and worry about getting your club doll in place on the way.
