n 1983 Paul Stauffer had an idea for an auto repair business that would serve the Rockford community with integrity, customer service, and using the most current technology. The Auto Clinic began operation on Rockford's west side in the Zatrell Body Shop. In 1984, the Stauffer family moved the Auto Clinic to a Marathon Station on 1st Avenue and 6th Street. Finally in 1992, they built the current Auto Clinic at 4109 E. State Street. In 2007 the torch was passed on to Paul's oldest son Brad and his family to continue the Auto Clinic's excellent reputation within the community
