People today still think all we do is race engines but the majority of it's diesel, passenger car, street rods. If it runs on gasoline or diesel we work on it. Terry'success with racing motors is legendary and he applies that same expertise to every engine that comes into his shop. In the last 10 or 12 years we've done a lot of research. Different cylinder heads, different manifolds. We've seen as much as 60 horsepower gain and just an intake manifold change. We've seen 30, 40 horsepower gain in carburetors. The dyno tells us a lot whether it's a drag race engine or a street engine. Knowledge, accuracy and attention to detail drive this shop success. One of the things that makes us stand out with our cylinder head department is every valve seat we cut whether it be a diesel head, raise head we always check the seat run out. We also adjust your vacu What I'm going to do here, this particular distributor wants to see 12 degrees or this application. I'm going to get 12 degrees and it's come in at 2500 RPM. There's my 12 degrees. Cut my vacu Unique equipment is all over the shop. An automatic cylinder honing machine that ensures a better ring seal and this crankshaft grinder that can handle a piece up to 7. 5 feet long. We can grind a $10,000 crankshaft for $500 rather than replacing it with a new one. You save a lot just in remachining what you've got. One of the big things we're doing now is stroker engines. Taking the 350 stroking it to a 396. It runs on 87 octane. It makes 525 horsepower with 500 pounds of torque. That's one of the things we're concentrating on now is the 87 octane street engine with a lot of power. Whether it'street rods, heavy duty equipment or grocery getters, customers find that it's much more cost effective to have Terry Walters rebuild or replace your engine than it is to buy a whole new vehicle.
