Fred's Garage opened its doors in 1960 in Redwood City as VW and Audi Specialist. Over 50 years later, they are still servicing Volkswagens and Audi.
Fred's Garage is a second-generation, family run business. Manfred "Fred" Umhofer opened the doors of Fred's Garage in Redwood City in 1960. His two sons, John and Tom, joined the family business in 1980 and 1984. Fred's Garage specializes in Volkswagen and Audi. We are well trained in all models and years of VW and Audi. We have the computer technology to diagnose and repair the newer computerized cars. We, too, are known for being able to restore the vintage VW's.
