Regarding winter driving performance, Toyota recently asked AMCI testing for an objective independent evaluation of the 2015 RAV4 XLE with available all-wheel drive versus the 2015 Subaru Forester, 2015 Honda CR-V, and 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4 all-wheel drive as well. So we conductive intensive real-world winter testing in some of the harshest weather conditions. Stay warm and stick around, you're about to see some interesting results. Testing traction and acceleration, we measured how long each vehicle took to reach 50 miles per hour from a complete stop on snow. The RAV4 reached the desired speed in just 8. 3 seconds, while the Forester needed 10. 2. Obviously, stopping in the shortest possible distance is the best outcome for this test, and the best at doing that was the RAV4, reaching a complete stop in just 242 feet, while the Subaru Forester needed 325 feet. In this double lane change scenario, we challenged each vehicle to evade right, then back left as fast as possible without getting an obstacle. The RAV4 did so at 29. 4 miles per hour, besting the Forester by over four miles per hour. Based on its performance advantages, AMCI testing certified that the Toyota RAV4 with available all-wheel drive has better active safety, acceleration handling, and cornering performance than the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4 on snow.
