Verkler Truck Sales and Service is a medium duty full service repair facility and dealership located in Peoria, Illinois.
Starting in 1915, Verkler-Curless Comapny began as a dealer for Briscoe Automobiles and Republic Trucks. In 1921, the company entered the service industry and began repairing automobiles. From 1933 to 1935, Verkler-Curless became dealers for Diamond T Trucks, Federal Trucks, Goodyear Tires, Sieberling Tires, as well as a vendor for the Sinclair Oil Company. The company went through many changes in 1936 and was renamed Verkler-Peyer Company, where it became one of the few companies manufacturing truck bodies. In 1941, the company became a dealer for White Trucks as well as began operating a fuel bulk plant on SW Washington Street in Peoria. Three years after WW II, Verkler-Peyer became a dealer for Nash Automobiles. In 1953, Verkler-Peyer was fortunate and gained the franchise to the GMC Truck Division of General Motors. In 1960, Verkler Truck Leasing began. With over 50 employees, Verkler GMC offered a variety of services on light through heavy duty trucks. In 1982, Verkler Truck Sales and Service was incorporated after the termination of Verkler GMC to provide service to valued Customers of Verkler GMC as well as Verkler Truck Leasing. In 2007, Verkler Truck Sales and Service became a temporary parts and service point for Mitsubishi FUSO trucks.
