Blackline Racing got it's start as the McAllister family race team in 2008 and has grown into a fully operational air cooled performance machine shop.
Here, at Blackline Racing, we pride ourselves in building the highest quality air cooled engines that money can buy. Volkswagens truly are our passion and our drive. The McAllister brothers currently hold land speed records set on the Bonneville Salt Flats. They have put together many air cooled VWs and are always ready to help other racers any way they can. The local VW community is very important to all of us and we look forward to any sponsorship negotiations that come our way. Owner/engine builder/machinist, Justin McAllister, has honed and refined his skills since the age of 16. He got his start as the shop boy at BC Autoworks where he stayed as their engine builder for 4 1/2 years. Once he felt as though he had learned all he could there he went on to refine his air cooled skills at a shop we’ve all heard of, Air Cooled Engineering. Art Thraen saw so much potential in Justin that they began talk of Justin buying the place not too long after he was hired. Justin worked under Art for 5 years before the deal was made, and Blackline Racing was born March 1, 2013! We were lucky enough to hold on to carburetor specialist Dave Hogarth, who rebuilt Air Cooled Engineering’s carburetors for the last 10 years, while Art shifted his focus to his HVAC business, known as ACE HVAC. Dave is a well of knowledge and can fix nearly anything you can throw at him. His full carb restorations come out looking better than brand new.
