Dean McCrary Imports founder, Dean McCrary started his career as a detailer, lot boy, and runner at Treadwell Ford in 1977. Four years later in 1981 at only age 19, Dean resigned and started Dean's Auto Sales. Humble beginnings selling cars from a small lot in front of his grandparent's house on Moffett Road in Mobile, marked the start to Dean McCrary Imports seen today. In just four short years Dean formed DMC Enterprises, Inc. in May 1985, and moved operations to Government Street where business was operated until 1989. Over the next decade there was significant growth for Dean McCrary. 1994 marked a major achievement as he was awarded the Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen franchises. Just three years later in 1997 Kia in Mobile was added to the growing list of dealerships. The 2000's also marked a growth period for Dean McCrary, being awarded the Kia franchise in Hattiesburg, MS and purchasing the Mazda franchise. Today Dean McCrary operates 6 franchises on the Beltline Highway facing I-65 including Volkswagen. An additional sales and service location is in Hattiesburg, MS. Dean McCrary is proud to note that Volkswagen has surpassed Toyota as the world's largest Automaker for the first half of 2016. An incredible achievement. Dean McCrary dealerships are proud members of the Alabama and Mississippi Dealer Associations, Mobile Chamber of Commerce, and the Hattiesburg Better Business Bureau. Dean McCrary is extremely proud to serve the Golf Coast for 30 years and continues to look forward to providing a great stress free new and used vehicle buying experience as well as unparalleled service for many years.

Well, places known for deals are dealing with some big messes. The Dean McCrary, Kia and Mazda dealerships were hit by severe weather early Saturday morning in Mobile. I went out there to have a look. Cars stacked on top of cars, shattered windows on doors, and broken glass sprinkled on the interior are all visible reminders of the powerful storm that rolled through Mobile Saturday morning. Were touched down at about 7. 15 in the center of the parking lot, most of our inventory where it was all gathered. A lot of the damaged cars ended up in the garage. The storm, so powerful it sucked skylights from the ceiling and scrapped at least one security camera. 35 to 40 cars damaged. Some picked up and lifted on top of other cars, mostly glass damage. Windows knocked out, scratches and stuff This dealership is busy enough with cars coming in for regular maintenance, but you add a natural disaster on top of that and that makes things even more hectic. A lot of clean up. You're going to have to call in some contractors to do some AC work, some structural work, get all these cars back up and running again, new glasses, detailed back out. Even though the storm caused thousands of dollars in damage, the dealerships got lucky. Nobody was hurt. The storm hit roughly an hour before they were supposed to open for what's normally a busy day.
