Gary Dulin Jr. is opening Dulin Collision Center after many years of working as lead paint technician at several different auto body shops. He's seen it done right. He's seen it done wrong. Now he's opening up his own shop in Milford, CT with the goal of creating the highest quality, most honest and affordable auto body shop in the state. Dulin Collision Center is scheduled to open sometime in 2016.

My name is Michael Curly. I am in 12th grade. I'm a senior and I am in auto collision at Plattec. So currently I go here at Dillon Collision Center four days a week during my shop cycle and I go to school one day a week. After school in the academic cycle I come here as well every day. Mike, I mean really anything I throw at him he can do from when he started to now is a major improvement. He improves every day. We have Michael do everything. Details, sweep, helped me prep out a roof skin. I just try to get him a little bit involved in everything. Prepping cars for paint. He's really diligent with what he does and I think he wants to be here. I think the benefits of work-based learning are great. I do good in school but for me to get out and do something and learn skills To partner with a technical school It's You're drafting students. You're drafting players. There's a lot of competition for the best top three students. A lot of people want them. Josh was also at WBL. Now he's running my office. He's writing estimates. He's negotiating claims. Hi Nicole, it's Josh at Dual Inclusion. My name is Josh Pape and I am the general manager here at Dual Inclusion Center. I graduated in 2017 from Platte Technical High School. I started work-based learning my junior year. Being able to be here away from school and actually make money was huge for me. So the goal for work-based learning for my business here is to retain each student. If they wish to find a career here and stay with me throughout the process that is the ultimate goal and it's probably one of the better ways to do it because now you have a kind of a custom employee if you will fits your needs. In my eyes it's definitely very valuable to have a WBL student because we can kind of form them and teach them how to do it right from the get-go rather than bringing in a tech that's already learned bad habits and been in a shop that may not necessarily do things the correct way. It's nice to have a fresh mind and they have a lot more understanding of technology and sometimes I learn from him and he learns from me. My favorite part about working here is the people. It's a place where I can go and not feel uncomfortable with the people I work with. I see what Gary and Josh are doing and the advancements that they're making. It's not just throwing something together. It's not making sure it goes out as fast as possible. It's getting the perfect repair that also helps with maintaining customers. If you surround yourself with successful people and a successful business I feel
