Making the holiday park our first stop was a good idea and another good idea was checking in with our mate Carl from KNM Automotive Mansfield to give us some local knowledge on the area we're heading into. Now as I always say there is no knowledge What advice you got for people that want to come out here and do a bit of stomping in the dirt? Yeah you always want to have good spare tyres, fuel and plenty of water. Mate what sort of spare should they be carrying? Kits to plug your tyres and that sort of stuff but yeah just all your basic stuff. Good range of recovery gear and if you're going to go out and push the limits along to make sure you either have a winch or some forms of being able to get yourself out of some stuff. What's the main cause of the breakdowns that you recover or being bulged? Either we're breaking axles or burning out clutches or two ways advisable to have alpine diesel or be prepared that you're going to get stuck out there in cold conditions because they can come on pretty fast and quick. That's actually a really good point. A lot of people don't realise that. What actually happens to them? Once the temperature comes down in the night and we have diesel it actually waxes up inside the tank but sacking that wax into the fuel system and then you can't get them going.
