I've been a fabricator here for five years and I've been working on trucks and equipment for a good 15 years or more. I've always enjoyed being a mechanic and welding and I just So working on trucks is the opportunity to do that. Working here is great. Every customer wants some different features, different kind of d So you get to do a lot of different things with the equipment and also everyone So every kind of truck has to be put together in a different way. As you can see on the front it's got a Underneath it has somet When you see a truck going by you see sparks shooting out underneath it's because it'scraping the road off. And then t And inside it has a belt so it's live bottom that feeds the salt out the back and drops it out the back to a spinner. And all that is electrically controlled with computers that we put inside the cab and also the hydraulics we build all the controls and everyt Nate installs the wiring and lighting on a new truck. My name is Nate. I've been working in the truck and trailer for eight years. Full time, part time, probably five after school on Saturdays. Been a truck builder for eight years as well. Yeah I do the wiring on all these trucks. I've probably been doing that for four years. I've done iron hanging and pl And hey pull the truck in, look at the work order, see what it gets. Lights, strokes, plow lights. So when a truck comes in it goes down to the front end guys. They build the front ends and then goes to the iron hangers. They build scraper legs, all the other stuff that needs to be done before you set the body and be pl After that go to the pl And then typically we'll put the bodies on before it comes to me. One thing I Whether it doesn't affect the job, so it's raining, you don't have to go home. We're busy year round. There's always work to do. When I get the truck there's no d They got scraper on, all the iron hang on it. And then I got to pl So every piece of equipment on the truck. Obviously you got your hydraulic oil and then there's a suction line that goes up to the front of the truck where there's a p And that sucks all the oil out and sends pressure back to the trucks.
