Steve's Transmission

Transmission and transfer case repair since 1984.Standard and automatics

Okay Steve, we got the transmission apart and where the axle goes in, the transmission actually plugs into this differential and what's wore out are these carrier bearings. They're just flat wore out on both sides. There's another one on this other side. You just both. No good. That's what's happening. It allows that axle to wobble around and it doesn't feel. But sadly all that metal has gone through the entire transmission and embedded itself into the lining of the clutches and bands is what it's done. It's basically turned the transmission fluid into liquid sandpaper is what it's done. The clutches are worn through but they're not burned up. It's just, this metal is just embedded itself into the lining. And it's also contaminated with bowel body and solenoids. And the only thing we can do to fix this and fix it right is rebuild the transmission. And I just wanted you to see this because that's what we're going to take to fix it. But the good thing is it'll come in about a five year, a hundred thousand miles warranty. And we're also going to have to flush your transmission cooler system to get all the metal out of that. And that's attached to this email in a separate video showing you how we do that. But Either way, we'll move forward on it. And your estimate will follow in a separate email. So we appreciate your trust, Steve. Thanks.
