Hey everybody, this is Robert Abedotto works. Today we have a Subaru WRX wagon that came in with a front suspension failure. Now the reason I want to talk about this car is that it has had an open recall on it since 2011, December of 2011 actually. So this is a preventable failure because every time that we see a vehicle we do a safety inspection on the car whether it's an oil change or a scheduled appointment for maintenance, anything We are looking out for your best interest and your vehicle's best interest. So what happened here is the recall was for a complete failure of a front control arm due to rust. Now the recall is that you're supposed to test for rust and then order the parts accordingly and file the recall through the manufacturer. So you can check every vehicle at nhtsa. gov whether you have a recall open or not or directly through your vehicle's manufacturer. Now if you can bear with me I'm going to try to get the camera in here so you can see what we have going on. So right in there is where the control arm is supposed to be attached and you can see that it is completely rusted through. Now fortunately this happened at a low speed when the customer was driving the car. Had something So less than another day have a vehicle inspected at least twice a year.
