The old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it doesn't apply today's vehicles. You're driving a computer that needs to be kept in good working condition. The benefit is a longer lasting car that will save you both time and money. You should get your oil changed every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. Tire rotation and balance is recommended every 10,000 miles or every other oil service. Keeping up with this maintenance will help you save fuel. Ineffective and worn out wipers present a safety hazard. Replace wiper blades every 6 months. To save tires and increase your fuel economy an alignment should be performed a few times each year. The fluids in your transmission should be flushed every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Perform factory maintenance every 30,000 miles. This is the key to a longer lasting vehicle. Shocks and struts, worn or damaged parts cause a rough ride or bounce. Have these changed every 60,000. All fluids are replaced. Keep your car lasting longer and keep repair costs down by flushing all of your fluids occasionally. Don't forget about your lights. Check the exterior of your vehicle regularly for properly functioning brake lights, turn signals and headlights, dash lights, check engine, ABS and other warning lights are a sign of possible minor problems that can turn into major ones.
