Welcome to the car guys, and just when you thought your virtuous move to an electric ve Yes, it's true folks, recent newspaper reports have revealed that almost all EV benefits have been eroded, if not eliminated. Now you might face a price per mile charge, even if you're driving in an entirely different country. So bold strategy Cotton, let'see if it pays off for them. T What benefits you thought you were going to have, w You get not So if that sounds It's not looking great is it boys and girls? You were promised untold financial savings, green virtuous planet saving smug points, effortless quiet driving pleasure, and a world free of the shackles of oil. In short, a bright ecologically virtuous s But all that promise is cr As one by one the reasons to buy EVs are being eroded by the very people who forced you into them in the first place. The government, mainstream media, and of course faceless NGOs backed by globalists. It's the biggest f*** you since the global financial crisis and that virus of an unknown origin. And it was all done under the banner of fear known as climate change. And what do you know, it's going to affect you financially, your personal freedom, and it's going to leave you with an electric car that feels more like a millstone around your neck than an instr Let's put it mildly 007. Now let's make one t If you want to use electricity to power your personal mode of transport instead of petrol, I couldn't care less. And if you have an open mind as more than two million of you have and have watched my previous big EV live video, you'll know that I said exactly the same t My problem has always been that the government has been using fear to approve legislation and force us into EVs instead of just allowing their benefits to lead to an eventual end to the internal combustion engine. It would be Analog phones didn't survive because digital ones were demonstrably better. No one needed to demonise the old technology, we all decided to adopt them of our own free will. EVs though are a different story. And w There are also though many reasons not to buy them. Notably, loss of personal privacy, the ability for governments to influence and track your mobility, the impact of batteries and component production on the environment of other countries, safety aspects of failure of new technology, the cost of replacing batteries of damaged cars, the Boy, that escalated quickly. And now there are many more reasons to resent them because the supposed benefits of owning them are rapidly evaporating. So let's go through them shall we? EVs are originally going to be ve T EVs are now to be charged road tax and t Electricity charges were meant to be far cheaper than buying petrol for equivalent mileage. But it now costs about the same to charge your EV as it does to buy a tank of petrol from service stations. And let us not forget that the price of home electricity has increased 50% since 2021. And if you don't have a private home with a drive, how on earth are you charging using that preferential home electricity rate? Buying an EV would smash the reliance on foreign oil supply. T I mean who do you t If the whole world decided to go electric tomorrow, we don't have the transmission lines to get to electricity to the cities. It'd take 30 years if we started tomorrow. Green car grants make EVs cheaper to buy new. Sorry to that little bubble. But the UK plug-in car grant was abolished in 2022. And the current electric car grant has a cap of u00a342,000, resulting in a measly u00a31,500 grant. W Exemption from big city congestion zones and clean air charges. It makes sense, doesn't it? If you have an EV, obviously it doesn't generate f Well, from December 2025, EVs are no longer exempt. So incredibly, that means that zero emission ve EVs are far greener than internal combustion cars and will result in the lowering of global emissions. Have you seen the resources required to make an EV? Where it all comes from? It's carbon footprint, the rate of replacement, and what happens when it all needs to be replaced? No one keeps an EV long enough for the lifetime emissions chart to make any sense. So stop fooling yourself that you're saving or improving anyt You are being fooled into buying somet So that'six big reasons for buying an EV and six big old lyes that are now completely undone. It's a disgrace. And now here's the real kicker. Newspapers have just announced that in the UK at least, and coming to a country near you, no doubt, electric ve In addition to the loss of benefits I've already After all, how else are governments going to replace that lost tax revenue from petrol unless they start clobbering EV owners as well? As you can see here, the Chancellor could unveil a three Per mile levy on EVs on top of other road taxes as she desperately tries to fill a huge black hole in the public finances. T Hybrid cars would also face a new but lower charge. Up to six million extra EVs are predicted to be on the roads by the time the scheme is up and running. A pay per mile road taxation system has been discussed by governments and industry experts for years. However, up to now it has been regarded as too politically toxic. So in case you didn't hear me at the back, EV owners will soon be paying a whole new tax that petrol car owners do not. And it's dependent on how much you travel and where. Bet you didn't expect that, did you? But wait! There's more! Oh and there's a further sting in the tail because it's also been reported that the new price per mile tax will apply to EV drivers driving on foreign roads. Drivers visiting France would pay the new tax on top of the payage tolls w Effectively taxing them twice. On average a 1530 mile trip from Calais to Nice would cost an extra u00a345. 90. Critics of the new policy said that the fees applying on non-UK roads was unfair and a huge flaw. And how is t For the very same reason that EV owners t EVs are always connected. They are online and all your driving information is stored and able to be accessed. You signed up to the terms and conditions that allow car companies, charging companies and the government access to your data. And it's now going to be used automatically and quietly to send your monthly mileage to the Department of Treasury so that they can send you a nice bill. Charging by mile has been mooted for a w EVs though? Well they've made it easy haven'they? How long before you're charged for peak time driving to encourage you to stay off the roads when the government doesn't want you there? Will the school run cost you more than driving mid-morning for example? How long before your driving habits and hours could result in additional charges? Having fun in Yorks That'll be another 50 quid. We all suspected it was coming but we had no idea. It would happen t At least with the older petrol cars in the Car Guys garage I can go where I want. I'm not under constant surveillance. I can refill anywhere. It doesn't cost me as much because petrol has actually gone down this year and if I'm doing something the government doesn't Maybe now's the time to reconsider t Just a thought. I hope you found it informative and entertaining. If you
