Today'subject is going to be checking your oil. Checking your oil is important before long trips or daily commutes. You're going to want to start by finding your hood release latch. Usually they're located under the steering wheel or on the floor by the driver'seat. T Your next step is going to be releasing the hood fully. Feel underneath the hood to find the release lever and pull. Then apply your prop rod. Next you want to find your oil dipstick. Usually the tops are yellow or they'll say engine on them or they'll have a special sign. You want to pull your dipstick, wipe it clean, put it back into the dipstick tube, pull it out again and that will give your oil reading. There's a section on the dipstick that has an oil full and an oil add. You want it to be in between those lines. If it's below the add line start by adding half a quart and check your oil from there until it's between the add and full line. To add oil, find your fill cap. Remove your fill cap, place your funnel inside and fill it with the proper oil. Make sure you have the proper amount of oil in your car. Make sure that the dipstick and the oil fill cap are in the proper place again. Then close your hood. Remove your hood prop rod and clip it in the proper place. And slam the hood shut.
