Hi, I'm John Devils, owner and operator of Redline Shop, RedHotParts. com and CozyDog. com. We're the largest supplier of reproduction redline parts in the world. As well, we do thousands of redline restorations each year. What today I want to talk to you about is the question I get asked most about restorations is, will it hurt to value the car? Well, there's usually four criteria I run through. The first is, what's the current value of the car? What I This is an older edition, but you can get a current edition every year, every other year. It gives you a good baseline of what the value of the car is in mint condition. The second question I ask is, what's the current condition of the car? Third is quality of the restoration. Who's doing the restoration? If it's done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, you're not going to have very quality restoration and it's really not going to have any value to it. The fourth criteria, and this is the most popular, is what is the history of the red line? Did you own this as a child? Now it's all beat up. All you want to do is restore it to its original condition. When you bought that, when you were a kid, you want it just looking, just These are the four criteria I usually go through when people ask me. Ultimately, you've got to make up your own mind. Hopefully I've helped you answer some questions here on whether to restore or not to restore your red line. Thank you. Come visit us at redlineshop. com, cozydog. com, or redhotparts. com.
