L. Glenn McIntyre (Mac) and family are the owners and operators of several Midas Auto Service locations throughout South East Lower Michigan. Mac began working for Midas as a company employee in 1958. At the time, Midas was a relatively small and new company, with ambitious goals to expand their locations. Mac was asked to help turn around a struggling location at 3170 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor, MI, then owned by a retired Army General. In 1964, after successfully turning the Ann Arbor location around, Mac was offered the opportunity to purchase the location and operate it as a franchised shop. In 1974, Mac opened his 2nd Midas location at 404 E. Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, Michigan. The family still owns and operates this location to this day. In 1978, the McIntyre family purchased a location at 2395 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI. This 3 bay location is located near the University of Michigan campus and football stadium. In 1980, the McIntyre family purchased a location in Adrian, Michigan, which is currently operated by Mac's son Terry, Terry's wife Laurie, and son Todd McIntyre. In November of 1990, the McIntyre family continued their expansion to Lansing Michigan, with the purchase of 2 Midas locations. One residing at 4230 W. Saginaw Street, and the other at 3800 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. These locations are owned and operated by Mac's sons Rusty McIntyre and Kelly McIntyre, and Rusty's wife Lynn McIntyre. The McIntyre's take pride in the family business, and maintaining a family environment with all of the families having a major role in the day to day business operations. Rusty and Lynn, Kelly and his daughters Kim and Amy, Terry and Laurie and their two kids Erin and Todd have all spent many hours in the shops. Mac passed away in 2009, leaving his Midas shops to his 3 sons, who still own and operate these locations to this day. The McIntyre family has a great history with the Midas brand, and a passion for automotive repair and service.
