Freelance Lutherie is a home based guitar maintenance and repair shop in Anchorage, Alaska.
Founder of Freelance Lutherie, Todd Farnsworth, has been a tinkerer of his own guitars for years. Constantly upgrading, tweaking, and cycling through instruments, he decided it was finally time to hone in the craft. So in early 2015, Farnsworth attended Atlanta Guitar Works. After hands on learning for weeks, he built several guitars and learned all sorts of common repairs and maintenance techniques. Thus, Freelance Lutherie was born. The repair shop is home based, and as such, by appointment only. However, appointment times are extremely flexible. We do set ups, fret dresses, refrets, electronics, bone work, etc. We also do minor and moderate repairs. While we cannot sell parts directly, we can order and install them.
