Joining me now in the daytime Buffalo studio is Alyssa McGovern of AAA Western and Central New York. Thank you so much for having me tell us about that. Yeah so most people don't know that AAA does insurance and insurance includes Medicare. It's that time of year, annual enrollment where anyone can make a change. It's a Medicare participant and we will review your coverage for free. We work for you to find the best option for you. Can you explain a little bit more about what Medicare is and then who is eligible for it? Certainly so Medicare is a federal insurance program, health insurance and most Americans become eligible when they turn 65 and if you participate in Social Security you participate in Medicare and it helps And how can AAA help with t Sure so we work with about 80 different plans through around 12 different carriers that you might be familiar with. Independent Health, We do the math and look at what your costs are and find the best plan that fits your needs with no benefit to us to choose any one plan over the other except choose what's right for you. And what are the parts of Medicare? Sure so there's parts A, B and D. So And B are your hospitalization and your doctors and then D is your prescription coverage and everybody has a little bit of a different need in terms of what they might Would you say the Medicare process is kind of difficult to navigate alone? I would say it is a lot to take in if you are alone and a lot of folks are on their own or maybe you're even a caregiver that's helping someone else navigate and there's a lot of different options and that's what AAA is here to navigate for you so that you don't have to worry you can just have laid out in front of you what's the best fit for you. Alyssa talk to me more about the advantages of working with AAA. Sure so AAA it's a brand that's been around for over a hundred years we're a trusted brand and we want to cover you for every stage of life. Medicare is What do you t I t What's been some of the feedback you've gotten from customers that have gone through t It's funny you ask that so we recently did an interview with one of our members who had shopped around and looked around with different carriers and she didn't feel Absolutely. I've been with AAA almost 18 months now and in the insurance industry about 15 so I'm very happy to be part of an organization that truly cares about the community.
