DTP Automotive & Diesel

Hi, I'm Dana Treco. I'm one of the owners of DTP Automotive and Diesel, Specialized Magazine and Diesel Repair. Born in Canadian, raised in Wellington, Texas. UTI, Universal Technical Institute in Houston. The school got me in the door of a dealership of a place to start and when I got there I was very unknowledgeable how to work on cars. I knew how to change the one, knew how to do spark plugs, but I came in very certified. I had 80% of my certifications where the other mechanics there, 20 other guys weren't certified. And then as I progressed, it was easy to me. It's been a roller coaster, but it's lots of fun. My success to me is doing what I enjoy in a very relaxed atmosphere that we've created. My name is Tyson Payne and I'm one of the owners of DTP Automotive and Diesel. When I turned 18 I moved, I went to UTI also, but I chose the furthest one away from where I could find. So, I've left a few times, but I've always come back. I grew up, I race track on the weekends, shops with my dad during the week, working on different cars. Some of the most successful people that I know didn't go to college or didn't go to a four year college. It's not the only avenue to be successful online. I'm doing what I love. This career has allowed me to go do the things that I'm passionate about doing other than working on cars. I've been to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Peru, Mexico, Ireland. Spain, I think that's all of them. I've traveled the world, I've been all over the place really. I know where it feels And say get out of your bubble with your friends and go explore. And I used to grow up saying there's nothing to do in Amarillo and there's all kinds of stuff I just didn't really take the opportunity to go after it.
