Today we're in Honolulu, where one man's life became a legacy. At 100 years old, the store's founder is the same age as Napa. He lived through Pearl Harbor, witnessed Hawaii become a state, and in the 1960s began building And that vision still drives the island forward, through a family-run business that keeps fleets moving, families driving, and communities connected. T I started from Honolulu auto parts, and got up. My dad Larry, he worked for Napa store back in the day after the war. In 1965 he decided to go on 30 years ago he decided to move from down the street to here, put up the building, and got started. From a single counter in 1965, to multiple locations across Honolulu, Larry's auto parts grew with the island, adapting, expanding, and becoming a true community staple. I was in the fifth grade when he opened the business. So of course after school and on weekends, he'd come down to the store and help where you can. For me it's very rewarding. My wife works with us, my daughter works with us, my two brothers, my dad, my mom. So it was very, the majority of the family worked for I'm glad t All my kids do it. For Larry's family, the store isn't just about parts on the shelf. It's about people. Over six decades they've become a pillar of the community where customers are neighbors and every relations Very supportive. They've been very supportive of us. But I t So it's been good for us. Ohana, right? That's the styling way. We support each other. Especially the old timers, they know that we need their support and we try and support them And just Our other store in Hawaii Kai, we deal with recreational boats. Industrial side we service the tugs that go in between the islands and we do some charter boats. From witnessing the attacks on Pearl Harbor to building a business that served Hawaii for more than 60 years, Larry's Auto Parts proves that with a little know-how, the spirit of Ohana and a partner The opportunities will change. And for my team, I need to be there to help them because they're here to help me. So the drive is just to make sure everybody is taken care of and be the best I can.
