AutoFlex/Liquid Wrap/Vinyl Wrap PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. Recently I have been flooded with questions, comments, concerns and just a general lack of education on the products we offer and are offered on the market in regards to vehicle color change. #1 Liquid Wrap represents 90% of our business over the last three years (products include Halo EFX, Raail, Elastiwrap, Plastidip, etc). Liquid wrap is the most COST EFFICIENT way to change the color of your vehicle and protect your factory paint. This is a sprayable/removable coating which requires the most maintenance, has the shortest lifespan (compared to other products listed below) and is NOT fuel resistant. Because of these factors, it carries the lowest price tag of vehicles starting as low as $750 and ranging upwards to $1800 depending on car, color and complexity. #2 Vinyl Wrap – Vinyl wrap was added to our services in the fall of 2015. There was a large demand from our higher end clients who wanted a product which is more durable and has a truer gloss finish than the products offered in the liquid wrap world. At this time (fall 2015), the liquid wrap products being manufactured were more on a retail level, the gloss finishes were not as durable as vinyl and also tend to have more orange peel due to manufacturing constraints. Vinyl has a lifespan of approximately 5 years, requires significantly less maintenance than liquid wrap and IS fuel resistant. This product can also be ceramic pro’d for added longevity. Due to these increased benefits and due to material costs and application time/dis-assembly vinyl wrap pricing for smaller size coupe vehicles roughly starts at $2200 range depending on color. #3 AutoFlex – AutoFlex is a fuel resistant topcoat which is delivered in a matte, satin and gloss sheen. A professional substrate product was designed as the base layer for this product called Spray Wrap Pro. The high gloss product can be sanded, buffed, polished and ceramic pro’d similar to automotive clear coat. You are not restricted to a specific color deck because we can create any colors including factory OEM paint matching (added pricing applies, chrome only available in vinyl). AutoFlex has all the advantages of vinyl with less negatives. Because it is a sprayable product it can handle 90 degree angles and deep recessed areas, typically in the vinyl world a seam would exist in these areas. While this is a limitation of vinyl products, this is standard practice from reputable vinyl shops to insure durability and adhesion in the long run. AutoFlex is not only a color change option for your vehicle it will also allow Liquid Wraps, L.L.C. to compete in new markets with PPF (Paint Protection Film) products such as Xpel, 3M, Suntek, etc. The substrate product called Spray Shield was designed for crystal clear clarity and to never yellow over time. AutoFlex can then be applied over spray shield in matte, satin or gloss to protect factory paint from rock chips, UV protection, scratches etc. We can do full car clear bras or simply the front end of vehicle for track protection or daily driving. You can expect baseline pricing to start around $2300, this will be straight out of the gun no finishing. We will offer cut, buff and polish for additional pricing beginning at roughly $500 range for high areas of the vehicle (hood, trunk, roof, fenders, bumpers, upper portions of the vehicle). Here’s the high level conclusion. Liquid wrap isn’t going anywhere; it is still the most cost efficient way to change the color of your vehicle/wheels/accessories. Don’t expect it to last forever because it will not. Vinyl wrap will always win the battle in the textured film arena (carbon, brushed metallic, etc.) and chrome. It is a time tested product we will continue to offer. There is no substitute for vinyl in the commercial graphic and fleet vehicle world. AutoFlex is the new kid on the block, same advantages of vinyl with slightly more positives, expect vinyl pricing for vehicles and powder coat pricing for wheels, anything less isn’t worth our time. The biggest advantage of using a shop like Liquid Wraps and Graphic Solutionz is free education, we understand and know all the products available and being used on the market today. We define your budget for the project, style of the build (i.e. daily driver, project car, show car), we give you a list of options to choose from, educate to understand the differences in pricing and pros/cons of each selection. There will be times vinyl is the best option, there will be times AutoFlex is the best option, we aren’t one trick ponies, we don’t push product that isn’t the best solution for your budget and needs.
