I'm Sandy Gans, the garage professor. Today we're here at the Sears Auto Center with our project car to get the front end aligned. We have Sal and Alex with over 50 years of alignment experience for the shop today. Sal, tell us a little bit about what's going on today. We're going to be performing our alignment with t Alex, you were brought in as a specialist. You have some familiarity with the Mustang and the older cars. I'm very familiar with the 465 Mustang and it's unique suspension and I've done a lot of them for the year. Alright, well I'll let The first step is to mount the laser targets on all four wheels so the computer can get a front end alignment reading. Then with the car neutral, roll the front wheels onto the turntable so the computer can calibrate to the current front end alignment. It took a reading to the left side right now. Now it's asking me to turn the wheel to the right. Now it's to the center straight ahead. By making sure your front end alignment is correct, your car will handle properly and your tire wear will be even to get the maxim Wow, actually t I mean as you can see that their camber and caster are actually green but t You see what it says there? T So that's your left front wheel, your right front wheel but that is reading your camber and toe in, toe out, it's off quite a bit. The bottom here is for the toe w Obviously as you can see it's towed out quite a bit. Camber is on the upper control arms. You can remove all of the s You can move the actual angle of the control arm changing the angle of the camber and the caster. If you move the control arm t Going t W Yeah, w Right. That was really good. I just eyeballed it. I'll add some more on t We'ready to perform the adjustments. He's going to be taking the toe in. He's going to be toing it in. He's losing up the tie rod. By turning on the tie rod, it's called the Adjusting Sleeve, it will pitch the tire inward or outward. It's right there. Perfect. Now that the toe is zeroed out, use the Craftsman 916's combination wrench to lock the adjusting sleeve in place. Zero. Dead center. Dead center on your toe.
