is wrong with your car and you need a certain part to fix it. Many car repair shops go to Pacific Jobbers warehouse in Mapuna Puna. Yeah that's the place to go. They're a local wholesale auto parts store. Now we learn more about their company in today's In The Biz and find out how this family owned business competes against larger mainland corporations here in Hawaii. My name is Jason Edeta. I'm the general manager of Pacific Jobbers warehouse. Our business we wholesale auto parts and we sell directly to independent installers and retail outlets and fleets. Pacific Jobbers is a family owned business. We opened up about 29 years ago and we started off with just the Bendix brake line one brand and today we have over 80 different brands that we carry mainly focusing on original equipment manufacturers and some aftermarket equipment. The major parts of the cell would be service parts such as brake pads, rotors, oil filters, air filters. I would say the biggest challenge is the cost of doing business. Customers always want more service, better products at a lower cost. I think in Hawaii with the cost of doing business being so high, cost of wages, rent, insurance, it's all kind of eats into the bottom line and it's a struggle to keep up. The success of the company is mainly due to the employees but when I ask my customers I love insurance solutions. I love the employees that work there when I call them, I email them, they respond same day and any problem I have they just solve it. I think the main reason we partnered up with insurance solutions was to help to get better service and to help have them look at our portfolio of insurance products and see how we could renegotiate it or make it better and maybe at a lower cost as well. With the high cost of doing business it'something unique we gotta have. We're one of only two independent locally owned companies all the rest of the people we, businesses we compete with are all mainland owned large corporations that are traded on the NYSE or NASDAF and so it's very hard to compete when they most times they have a lower cost basis of doing business but so we compete with just having the best people and the highest quality product.
