Hey y'all, so this is not the typical video I However, I think people need to be aware of this company so they don't get screwed over by them So I recently purchased a set of rotors and brake shoes from a company called AmericanTrucks. com. And they showed up pretty quick. I was super happy the prices were decent. I got them and as soon as I got them, the box looked really bad. In fact, it looked so bad, I asked my wife, I said, please take some pictures of this box. It just, it shocked me. I've never taken pictures of a box being delivered. But that's how bad the box looked. So The rotors are going to be in their individual boxes. It's just, they're just beat up. The brake pads will be in its individual box. It's fine. It's just an exterior box. They're heavy. I expected that. So I get in the house, I open the box and the box is barely staying together as it is. It's literally beaten so bad that it can barely even just stay together. So then I get it open and Now in that rotor, you'll see the rim of that cup. I think that's a wheel speed cup sensor thing. That's all bit. But also what I didn't show They are all bent all up to crap. You couldn't even get a nut on some of them if you wanted to. They were bent pretty severe. Also not only that, the inside of the raceway where the bearings ride was all chipped up and you can see that sort of here in this picture. So then what they should have done is they should have been boxed So this is the appropriate way. These rotors as you can see are in their own individual box. It's wrapped in plastic, which is nice. And then on top of that, it has around the individual studs. That's the appropriate way to do this. And then those should have been inside that other box. So the brake pads, I opened up the box, obviously. I spread everything out. My wife spread everything out on table. The brake pads, they don't look that bad in this picture. However, when I actually picked them up, I realized that they were chipped up even more and they were actually Initially I was just going to ask the company to let me keep the brake pads because I had a surgery that was coming up and I just was going to just throw the brake pads on the truck. I was going to go to the surgery and then after the surgery, I was going to throw away those brake pads and go and buy a new pair of brake pads and do the rotors and bearings and all that stuff the right way. It was just going to be a two day kind of thing, get me by. And then I was just going to eat the cost of the brake pads. The company would not let me keep the brake pads. They said you have to send me the whole thing back. So I put everything back together in that box. I took it back to UPS. Ten days later, I called them and I said hey, it's been ten days I was told as soon as the box got to UPS, the return would be put in my account because my money is tight and I need to be able to buy the rest of the stuff to fix my truck. I have a surgery coming up and they said okay, no problem. We'll tell you what, as soon as your money, as soon as that box gets to UPS and we can prove that it's there, we will then go ahead and give you a starter refund and then that should take another two to three days. So all in you're looking at, because that was on a Friday, you're looking at next Friday you should have your money back. Not to mention I had to drive to UPS which is 45 minutes away or so for my house. So it was about 35 minutes. It could depend on traffic, it could be 45 minutes. I also had to pay a dollar to buy the receipt or the sticker to put on the box from the UPS store. So they charged me that. So I had to spend my gas money to drive 45 minutes one way and 45 minutes back the next way. I had to spend my money on the stupid receipt or whatever, that sticker for the box. Today is now Tuesday. I just got off the phone with the guy and I told him the whole story and he said, well, that's not our company policy and he told me that it doesn't work that way and it's our company policy to make sure that we have them in our hands before we give your money back and I said, well, I can see that through the tracking n And I asked them to speak with the manager, he goes away for 15, 20 minutes, maybe 15 minutes. And I'm thinking, okay, he's going to get the manager. He tells me initially he's not going to get a manager. There is, he lied to me, he told me there is no manager available right now. And I said, dude, I'll keep calling until I get a manager. I'm not getting off the phone with you. So I waited, I'm thinking, okay, I'm going to get a manager. He comes back and he's I did some more research, there's nothing I can do. And I'm I don't want to talk to you. And he goes through this whole lying crap again about there is no manager available. So next thing I know, two or three minutes after arguing with him, the manager is there on the phone with me. I talked to the manager, the manager says, well, it's not our company policy, but I see what's going on. And I'll go ahead and start the refund process today. So even if he does what he says he's going to do and start the refund process today, I'm still out six to seven days because it's going to take time for it to go back to my bank and all of that. And But to me, that's a lot of money to have tied up when I have all this other stuff going on. Not to mention my truck is still sitting here in the driveway and I haven't been able to use it in the last 18, 19 days because of this whole catastrophe. Sorry for making this long boring video. The point of this video, if you didn't get it from the very beginning, do not buy from American trucks, but their shipping is terrible and their returns are terrible. Hey, y'all, Future Bobby here. So it's all good. The whole front end is brand new for as far as brakes are concerned. So that'super cool. We did that on Thursday. I wanted to let They held my money somewhere in the total of 35 days. I still cannot recommend these guys. I hope this helps prevent somebody from making the same mistake. I would not go with them ever again unless they really can change some things around. So just hopefully this prevents somebody from, So if Thanks a lot. Take care and God bless.
