The Battery Store (formerly Econo Battery) has been a family-owned business in the Huntsville community since 1974 and by the looks of our building, it shows! And with our line of new, used and refurbished batteries from manufacturers like Trojan, Deka, Johnson Controls, CSB, Yuasa, we can offer many options for you. We specialize in all types of lead-acid batteries for cars, boats, motorcycles, golf carts, RVs, lawn mowers, wheelchairs, tractors and equipment, solar system batteries and UPSs (Uninterruptable Power Supply). But we do more than just sell batteries! Here are a few other services we offer: FREE BATTERY TESTING Not all battery tests are created equal! Many chain stores rely solely on high-tech testing equipment which can give inaccurate or incomplete results. We also use the tried and true method of battery hydrometer readings, load testing and experienced technicians to know for sure if your battery is bad or just discharged. So if another store tells you your battery needs to be replaced, come to us for a free second opinion. FREE ALTERNATOR TESTING Alternator testing isn't always as simple as just reading the voltage. There are many variables that must be taken into consideration to know for sure if the alternator is the issue. We rely on our many years of experience to ensure the most accurate result. FREE INSTALLATION (on most vehicles and golf carts) Changing the battery in today's new cars can be tricky if you do it yourself! For example, did you know that if a 2004 GMC truck loses power when the battery is removed, the air conditioner may not work? Or that some Toyotas may not idle properly? Well, we do! Leave the installation to us and we'll make sure you get the correct battery and prevent your car from losing power in the process. BATTERY CHARGING Many people are surprised to find out that it can take many hours to fully charge a battery. Some chain stores will charge them for less than an hour but that just isn't enough time for a full charge. Full charge can take a minimum of 2 hours but in many cases, overnight. We use hydrometer readings to make sure the battery has reached a full state of charge. Best of all, battery charging is FREE if you bought the battery from us and only $3.00 if you bought it elsewhere. CUSTOM-BUILT CABLES We are the only place in town (that we know of!) where you can get custom-built, high-quality battery cables. We use Quick Cable brand cable and ends and use a hex crimper for the strongest, most durable cables. We have 6, 4 and 1 ga, 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0 battery cable, 1ga and 2/0 welding cable. WARRANTIES All new batteries carry a nationwide warranty so no matter where you are, you're covered. When you come to the Battery Store, we treat you like family.
