Our friends at Soccolies have released the new multi-cab for cabinet simulator and preamp. Now a w And t It can be used a few different ways. You can hook up a real amplifier to it and go from the direct line out into the mixing board of a recording console or a mixing board live. But I should point out that when you do that you do have to connect it to a load And in my last video of the previous version I show you how that works. But for this video I want to show And that's by using it with amp in a box style pedals and overdrives. Basically eliminating the need for a real amp altogether and being able to gig and record with just a small pedal board in your guitar. So I'm going from my guitar into a couple of pedals w Right into the input of the multi-cab for now on the right side you've got an input and then you've got a through out. Now if I were to use a real amplifier But since I'm just using a couple pedals I'll just go right into the input and there's also a three position level switch from negative 24 zero to 12. I am actually on zero right now. So the way the multi-cab works is your guitar signal goes into the input and then it passes through a couple stages. The first stage is kind of t So you've got a three position switch that's labeled pre and t You've got a clean and a hot and I'll explain later how they work. From there it goes through the power amp emulation. So right now I'm on off but you can emulate the power section of a real amp to sound or to feel I should say And from there we get into the cab section. So here you can choose the backing of the cab the imaginary backing if you will. So you have a closed back kind of like a You can also choose the mic-ing situation. You can select between just the dynamic mic which is So I Of course the big knob is your eight presets of cabinet emulation but t You could have any kind of cabinet You've also got a knob for ambience w I like to keep it just a little bit you know I don't want a big room sound so I just you know put it nine o'clock, ten o'clock and then you got your master vol So for t So in a recording situation there's also a nice ground lift here w You've got a nice little headphone jack, eighth inch headphone jack as well as an aux in w T Okay so before we get deep into the app and the cabinets I want to show you what it sounds So I've chosen there's not a lot of gain to it but it kind of resembles And if you'll notice I've got the pre and the power amp section off kind of a run-of-the-mill clean sound but when I turn on the Blackbird Deluxe listen to how it changes into more of A little more character right a little more edge slight breakup compared to no amp. So in this setup I'm actually almost using the Blackbird Deluxe as Not too clean a little bit of breakup but very dynamic. Now let's play around with the ambience knob That's all the way up here's all the way down. So I Now here's the money driving it with an overdrive pedal for t Now I should remind you that we're not using any kind of amplification there's no amps we're just using So to me it does have that sound it does have that feel of using a real amp w Now real quickly before we move on to the cabinets I want to show you what the pre and the power amp switches are good for at least for me what I Using the analog section here of the pre and the power switches you can get close to that sound so I'm going to turn off the amp pedal so it's just overdrive going into the multi cab and here's how it sounds. I'll put the amp pedal on so you hear the difference. It's a little more lively with the amp pedal right but we can get close to that if we use the pre amp switch so I'm going to turn it on to the clean. I gotta lift the vol Compared to the switches off. A little muffled sounding right a little sounds Almost has that voxy characteristic. And the tone knob is there if you want to add some more brightness to it. Personally I Let's compare it to the amp style pedal. Pretty similar. So I'm going to show you now the app and how that works with the center knob. So let's go to the app right now. So right now I'm in n But let'start at the beginning. I believe these are the stock cabs so the first one we've got a Fender Princeton 110 with a Jupiter speaker. Let's turn off the overdrive so you can get a better feel for the sound. Kind of a smaller sounding speaker. Moving on to n Got that really nice c Moving on to three w Four is a Zillafat Baby 112 with vintage 30s. T But that does have that kind of really balanced vintage 30 sound. Moving on to five we've got a Vox AC 30. Six of course we've got my favorite. Marshall 1936 going to the Marshall 1960 with greenbacks. Let me compare them. And then finally we've got a Mesa. Mesa Boogie Rectifier 412 with vintage 30s. Put on a little overdrive. I think that'supposed to be Blues breaker amp. Maybe that's why I So with all of these cabinets you can instantly switch the mic and the backing with the switches right here. So And to me it's more of a feel You go right in the middle too with the semi. I Here in the app the TAW editor picking your different speaker cabinet What if I wanted to switch the speakers out to Just simple as dragging it over. You've also got some Fender twin stuff deluxe champ. Let's try the champ. So there is another pack of cabs that they gave me. So you've got some a bag end 112 w You got a Laney you've got some H&K using Kettner. Fender Vibralux. T You got t If I didn't say it before the pedal hooks up to your computer PC or Mac via you included USB cable. There you have it that's the new MultiCab 4 from Tzakalice Audioworks. I hope I'm saying that right. If you have any comments or questions leave them down below. If you like this video please click that thanks again for watc
