I'm Barry Anderson and I was the designer of the Ecoflap. The Ecoflap is a replacement for the old mudflaps that have not changed since 1961. They let the water and the snow or the dirt through so you can see better around the trucks and because of that they also let the air through so the truck gets better fuel economy. T I was driving down the road on I-75 from Chattanooga to Atlanta in the rain and I was frustrated because I could not see when the trucks were around me so I started working on it. We have done more than 10 standardized tests for different fleets have done their own testing and we have performed enough tests to get on the smart way list and every test showed a positive improvement in fuel economy. Ecoflaps are about twice as expensive as a normal mudflap but a normal mudflap will cost you at least a hundred times more annually in fuel costs.
