REMOTE START 1 WAY VS 2 WAY: A 1 way remote will send the signal only. This requires a line of sight with the vehicle in order to verify the signal was received. A 2 way remote will send the signal and receive confirmation. This allows you to know whether the signal was received even if you cannot see the vehicle. REMOTE START RANGES: Remote starters have various ranges that go from 800ft up to 1 mile. The advertised ranges are typically in a best case scenario. There are many things that can affect range, including tractor trailers, buildings (especially brick), elevation, weather, etc. A good rule of thumb is to take 1/2 of the advertised range and that is what you should get at all times. So make sure to select a range that is greater than you actually need to make sure you don't run into any 'no signal' issues. REMOTE START LED VS LCD REMOTES: Most remotes include a simple LED light to confirm sending the signal and/or receiving the signal.
