I'm Lonnie Thompson. We're here at Carolina Customs in Portland, Oregon. I'm the owner of the company. The work that comes into the shop is mainly we strictly deal with hot rods, classic cars. We deal with custom trucks. Mainly it'strictly just hot rods, classic ve 1980 and older, unless it gets into the trucks. We do a lot of air ride suspension, so we up the years a little bit. But as for mechanical and body paint, stuff Carolina Customs came from, I gave my kids an opportunity to pick a name that they wanted. The plan was they wanted to move to the East Coast, so I figured start a company. The company didn't grow. I already have a name and I can move it out that way and try. Portland, Oregon was our home, but there's always other opportunities with how many restoration shops we're here at. Could the shop grow or is the shop going to stay small? What's different from Carolina Customs, the other shops? Carolina Customs is a company that does everyt So we do body, we do paint. We do interior, we do motors, we do suspension, we do chassis, we do interior. We select a few shops, we have an interior guy that comes to us here. The motors get mac And we are a company that technically you bring your car to and you do not have to worry about, oh, well, we're only a trainee shopper, oh, we're only a body and paint shop. You bring in a car here, we start from the very beginning, the blasting, doing the wiring, doing the installation of the motor and the suspension, the body, the paint, the interior. So it's turnkey when it leaves here. We can keep control of everyt It technically is my responsibility for anyt If we're in total control, we can QC everyt If the interior shop messes up, we deal with it. If the motor company messes up, we deal with it. So we can keep control of everyt We don't do that type of work. We do it all from metal turnkey out the door. Grandfather and uncle, grandfather was a mechanic, built race cars when I was a kid and my uncle owned a body shop. So I'd spend my time with them either working on cars during the s I got older. I started working for other companies other than his manufacturers and stuff Just trying to learn a little bit about everyt Automotive has been my passion since I was a kid. And, So, Music
