JLT Performance

What's going on guys, Riley here. Today we're going to be reviewing the JLT Cold Air Intake on my 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. I'm sure you can probably tell by my voice I'm getting sick so I'm going to do the best I can with t So this intake was sent to me from JLT to review for Now JLT already has a very good installation video of how to install t So we're going to skip the installation and just talk about the intake. So now as you can see, this intake is surrounded by a heat shield which is something I really So pretty nifty design there. Now if we pop open this little cover, I can show So as you'll notice, that is the little air inlet tube that routes from your headlight w But there you can see the tube kind of funnels air directly into t Now the air box here when the hood is shut is sealed to the bottom of the hood. Now you might notice that there is the vent right here w You will notice that the filter is directly below it and JLT has also thought about t Now I was a little bit worried that some water may somehow seep through the edges so what I went ahead and did was sealed off all the edges with some extremely strong gorilla tape just to make it a waterproof little design. Now I have sprayed the hood with water and left it out in a rainstorm just to see if any water would seep through. And here with my tape job and the clear t So you have air being sucked in through the fake little headlight and also there is a giant hole at the bottom of t So it's basically just a real nice closed in air box that traps in all of the air that you would want going into your intake. So now that Now before we go take the intake out for a spin I did want to show I figured it was fitting that we would empty the JLT oil catch can after doing a JLT intake. So I really have not had t I'll put it in a water bottle so there is the amount of oil caught in the catch can in about I would say probably 3, 2,000 miles. So not very many miles and that's a pretty good amount. So yeah, reason n But let's go ahead and take it out for a spin and we'll listen to t So now we'll talk about a few cool t So JLT claims that they have dyno tested t Now the 15 to 20 horsepower on a Hellcat without a tune would just an intake to me that seems So over the past couple weeks since I put t I really haven't noticed any significant differences as far as the intake temperatures go. What I have done is I've tested t Now here's a video of that. Now whether or not t So maybe you pick up a little bit of extra power with this intake but there's no real way of me to prove that to Now as far as the sound goes for this intake so let'say the stock intake is This is right in the middle at 5 out of 10 so it's not as loud as other intakes that I've heard or tested however it is a noticeable difference over stock. Definitely pretty loud. Also the throttle response with t I'm going to put my foot in it just. That never gets old. So as I said I've had this intake on my car for about two weeks and I'll be doing more Don't expect t Don't expect any intake to ever do that. Very minor differences that are associated with air intakes and with t So that's pretty much your basic overview of t My voice is fading as I'm sure I probably started off talking somewhat normal and as I've done t But I hope I'm going to go inside and drink some Gatorade, need some soup and hopefully start feeling better.
