In the last week since I've had the Acura SLX here I've gotten to know it a little bit better. I just got done was Solved the alternator problem. Somebody had put a brand new alternator in there and it was junk. Obviously it was only making 11 volts. They then proceeded to cut the ECM wire here that it cuts the alternator off if the engine's under load. Says somet Obviously somebody did that. Couldn't solve the problem. It ended up sitting and ended up in my hands for cheap. My solution was to go to the junkyard. Found a lower miles Izuzu trooper. Pulled an OEM Nipendento alternator out of it for 29 bucks and brought it home. Threw it in. Targin making 14 volts just I found a receipt in the glove box for the tires. Less than 2,000 miles on them. They are a Vietnamese brand Sailoon. They have a decent tread on them. They're a Cleaned them up a little bit. Great for me. One of the biggest problems of bringing these old cars back on the road sometimes is the expense of throwing tires out of them or finding a good use set. So score. I did some extra SLX-y duct taping of the seat there. Still haven't found a seat. I did today find a new clock for it. There was a factory radio and I disbaced that I needed the knob there for my stereo. So I'm gonna have to go back and snag that. But I've vacu Wiped the seats down good. Cleaned it up a bit. Everyt So far so good. I got to drive it down the road the first time today. It went goes really nice down the road. The shocks are absolutely shot. It just bounces everywhere. It had all the factory service manuals in it that are in decent condition. I was psyched to find that. Some I love t Don't modify your ve See I did also find a little latch there for the rear door so that stays open as it should now. I just noticed t I have to go back to the junkyard and grab that. Yeah everyt I was having a problem with my windows going up and down. You could hear the motors revving away in there but the driver's window would literally completely fall down inside of the door. I took the door panels apart and found out that these little plastic clips on the bottom were broken. My first priority was to do the driver's window because it was just falling off. I grabbed it from the junkyard, brought it home, fixed the problem great. Then I realized all my windows don't match. Passengers going crooked It was from an S model I guess it would be. So a trooper so it didn't have the factory bronze tint. No biggie. They work and they match. I all these plastic tabs are broken here. I was able to pop all those out so when I get a new winds So that's what's going on right now. Also when I was So factory limited slip in the rear end. I don't know if all the accuracy came with that. All the troopers did not so that's a big score. The list is growing every day. All the little odds and ends that I'd Got some brake pads today for $1. 50 for a set at the junkyard so I'll be able to throw some literally brand new brake pads on it when I get it up in the air. It's got rip CV boots, a headlight that needs to be replaced. The sunroof won't open. There's a ton of little t I did change the oil on it. My local grocery outlet had pens oil 530 for I'd I'll keep everyt
