Paul began painting at the age of 24. He became mesmerized with the trade at the Portland Roadster Show as he stood all day and watched a pinstriper lay one line after another. While continuing by day to install septic systems for his families business, by night he would lay stripes on anything he could get to stand still long enough, whether that be a washing machine, freezer, or friends car. When the nights painting became longer than the days he left behind the backhoe and ditches and in 1993 began his own commercial sign and vehicle graphics business in Vancouver, Washington. He began with friends, fellow drag racers from PIR and Woodburn dragstrips, street rodders, and commercial vehicles that were past associates from his excavating days. He has had the opportunity to learn from some of the masters in his trade, Max Kilbourne, John Hannukaine, Al Perreira and Jeff Devey. Today his clientele includes Joel Olson Trucking, Inc., D&R Dietrich & Sons, Inc., Ran Trucking, Inc., Don Steele Trucking, Inc., Kris Pickle Trucking, Lemmons Trucking, Inc., Don G.
