As one of the most innovative countries in the world, Singapore is a truly international city-state. W It also leads Singapore to be a very multicultural place. By 2030, Singapore's population will increase by over a million, hence the growing demand for housing, infrastructure, and transportation. Half of the citizens are also temporary, stopping by to work or study for only a short period of time. T By looking up to the data, Singapore needs to focus on the increasing n Singapore also needs to face the problems of the aging population as well as the other communities that may need additional services. In the future, there will be stronger demands for providing a transportation that is safe, easily accessible, and able to cater the needs of all population. How can we all get along for designing a better mobility? The National Design Center, also known as NDC. These are the designers at One Maker Group, w In t Design thinking is a mindset and also a process to empathize h Then we try to create a solution based on their problems. Then we make it into visualization, into a prototype, and then we offer to them to be tested. Then we get the attrition from that until the prototype becomes a real product and then we launch it to them. InnoVicia, an investment innovation partner, is about to help One Maker Group, a Maker Center service provider, for t One of the challenges that they gave was about mobility. It was a rather interesting topic. They got us they helped them to think about what kind of solutions are possible and to even validate and test out some of their ass In t She is an innovation consultant who has been working for more than 7 years in the field of innovation. And also, we find a public relations enthusiast who's going to help Dina as the co-lead facilitator. Facilitators have a main function to set the playground rules for the elevators to be and to guide them so they can focus to bring out their best ideas. The second one, the facilitator also ensures that each participant understands how to work using training and what to do in each session. Most of the group members are coming from different backgrounds, material science, electronics engineering, product design, and 3D interactive media technology. It's important to have teams with different backgrounds because people coming from different backgrounds can provide a fresh perspective and a collaboration of ideas. With the design the second one, collaboration can foster the ideas in a directed and positive way. Maxim Creating a meaningful solution begins with gaining a deep understanding of people's needs. Inspiration phase, the group learn directly from the people as they immerse in their lives and come to deeply understand the people's needs and aspirations. The group is writing up an interview guide for further exploration during the conversation with their targeted users. The group is split or field immersion to see, observe and interview how the real experience or situation is about the mobility now. How do they find a public transport? To them, the answer was one they After gaining enough insights for the challenge, the group is back at NDC to download the results from the immersion. Now we're going to download all the information that we got from the field immersion. That's what did you do and then whom did you ask questions to and what did you observe and what did you're finding just a short little bit. By asking them, we actually know more about them and by knowing more, we can come to improve and understand what's actually going on. She would want more space, more seats and make it more comfortable for them as well as make it more accessible. At what rate the announcement to SOF then the person elderly can't really hear which station is it so it's difficult for them to know when to un They use it almost every single day and they don't It wasn't dirty and they wanted it to be maybe possibly less crowded. Oh less crowded? Oh, less crowded. First that is the strong suggestions from us how to do the first t In Ideation phase, the group transformed the research into a meaningful and actionable insight that will become the foundation of their design. I the insights are written down so the groups can see the pattern of identified problems. The ideas are poured out and are posted on the canvases, selected and combined. Different people have different ideas so maybe I have t It's better than working alone in my opinion. T But we still have to evaluate any idea that we t Also, the other things that are good or interesting about brainstorming is we can generate a lot of ideas by go for vol We can build any idea over idea and also we can encourage wild ideas. Images or visual information are the most information that the brain can process. It can connect directly from our eyes to our cerebral cortex in our ocpital loop that can storage the image of information last longer by lasting in our brain as an iconic memory. After the ideas are selected, it's time to visualize them into prototypes. The prototypes are made from low fidelity materials. There's no technology, but they can show the feature and function from their prototypes. At t You can share, you can present about your idea and then whom do you test it with? First prototype aims to help the elderly to get the facility they need when writing the MRT. It is a wearable device with a c The elderly has the card and it only opens for elderly. Because some people does not really want to give up. T And if there's no one, it just automatically closes. The second prototype is called WCT, w It will be available in the MRT train. Not in every car, but at least one train will have one WCT facility. In the future, they capture Wi-Fi connection and charging station as another needs regarding the Finish with their first prototypes, the groups go back to the users to look for what works, what can be refined and any other feedback to get the prototypes ready. T Yes, yes. It's useful, we It's nice. Big doors. What is t Recharging. Yes, definitely. Recharging. It's Wi-Fi as well. Oh good, perfect. Yes, we have big votes for us, yeah. And the color, is that the color I t Right, yes. I t Happy colors. And you can take your dog. Is that it? On the MRT? Yeah, why not? I testing is needed to fit our idea in the customer eye because we need sometimes feedback from our customer. Is it our solution or is it our idea really solve the customer problem? We need to engage with the customer to know the real customer needs. And it also evolving to the customer needs that change time over time. Okay, so basically that is the final session that we have for today for t Yay! The conduct was more lively and with understanding and very specific pointers that we can really draw out and start putting them down into questions, putting them down into answers so that we can move on to the next step. Working with a team is actually very important because personally I came from electronics background and working with a design team actually helped me came up with many different ideas and understand different perspectives and taking different opinions from each other and combining it to further develop a solution that we came up with. So it's an iteration process and t After Design T So we can accelerate the idea to be the real innovative business. These design t Understand people, generate collaborative idea, make the idea happens. One way to decide an innovation. Let's innovate with us.
