So the weather has finally got to be nice and warm out just outside the city of Chicago. So every year our friends at Finish Line Performance have an open house and Dan Bills here of course is one of the guys behind the scenes of Finish Line. Whenever we come town we try and stop in and see what's going on. Dan, why don't you tell me a little bit about the open house of that. What happens? Well this is just something we do every year for our customers. We have some of their cars on display, we have our own stuff here but it's just something to get together, everybody has some food and have a good time. Now there's all kinds of different cars outside. We work on anything from old muscle cars, mostly we do LS1 based cars and Corvettes, F-Bodies, Mustangs, GTOs is a big market now and we're getting into the Dodge market now so the Jeep SX-E8's Magn Tell me how the Turbo Magn The software for the Dodgers is new so it's going to take a little time to get all those bugs worked out of it. I saw the sticker on the fender that said look underneath it's turbo. How did you end up orienting the turbo system? Actually we designed it to be You don't have to pull the motor out? No, not at all. It's a stock manifold, they bolt right up to the stock manifold, it'll bolt to your stock exhaust. Oh really? It was designed in that route but you have some oil and stuff you have to do so there'still a little bit of work. Okay, I Right, and that's kind of how we design that is you don't need a lot of special tools as long as you regularly have to do mechanical work you can put that on yourself. That's cool. Well there'some other cool cars too, one that we saw before is the Solstice over there which I understand is evolving. Yes, the Solstice actually has a 427 LS2 motor that we just built for it. It hasn't been on the dyno yet, we just got it running the other day so that'll be on the dyno shortly. That thing's animal. Yeah, that car's going to make probably about 500 horsepower if it's tired. Yeah, and it doesn't weigh anything. It's a little roller skate. But 500 horsepower is nothing compared to Danny's new race car. No, this one makes about 2500 I'm guessing somewhere in that range. Wow. Well this was built for pro street or when Enemar had pro 50 it was built for that kind of class. I also run it, it's legal for pro mod and top sportsmen. Okay, wow. You can run it, there you go, yes. Tell me about the combination. The combination, it's a 441 inch small block Ford, it's built by Fast Times. It's got a Bruno with a Lenco and it's got two 80mm turbos. So a 441 small block and 20mm. Yes. You're finding smaller displacements That's one of the reasons I didn't go with the 88s is because I thought I'd have trouble spooling an 88. The 80s I've been pretty happy with, they work pretty well. And you're thinking somewhere in the ballpark of 2500 horse power? I would, who knows. Judging on the weight and the speed, it'somewhere in that neighborhood. So in those runs, you made a couple of full passes, what's the best to date so far? It's been 709 at 205. 709. And that's at 18 pounds of boost, it'll run 30 eventually. It'll run 30 pounds of boost and you're running 7 at 209. So you could easily pull another, almost probably another second. We're hoping it runs 630 in a low to 36 in my goal. This is I mean the finish, it's a mirror finish, beautiful fit, it's phenomenal. Well, the couple guys that are involved with me, the J. C. from Performance Conference, who built the car. And Jack Stone, who painted it, they're second to none as far as I can say. They did a phenomenal job. You think you got enough gauges? No. And how the hell do you monitor all those while racing? I don't. They're just there for once in a while The three most important ones there in the center, those are the ones I look at. Full pressure, temperature, and torque, or boost. There you go. Total needed tech, I got a shift plate. Oh yeah, and back. So basically you just come back and play it back and see what happens afterwards. Yes. Did you have a hand in the turbo and exhaust pl Yes. The pl Most of the stuff up in the front, all the engine, all the hoses up front, I did all that stuff myself. What about your intake tubing and all that stuff? The intake tubing, I laid it out. J. C. built it all, but I laid everything out. Awesome. Well, thanks for having us at the open house. Really dug the free beef sandwich. Thank Appreciate it.
