D2 Custom Painting is a small airbrushing shop located in the Grand Rapids, MI area. Owner and air brusher David Smith is a self taught painter, he first picked up his airbrush about ten years ago. While using his airbrush for fun David also painted many pieces of construction equipment along with a couple of semi trucks. David was asked to attend a seminar with Jon Kosmoski founder of House of Kolor paints, one of the leading custom paints on the market today. After attending the seminar David started using House of Kolor paint on several friends’ motorcycles. Airbrushing was put on the back burner and David was involved in painting complete motorcycles. Convinced that he could do much more than the standard paint job, David picked up his airbrush again and worked on his those skills. D2 has incorporated only the best products available in the industry from House of Kolor paint, Hot Hues paint from DuPont, Water base paint by Auto Air (now Wicked Paint). D2 uses Iwata and DeVilbiss paint guns along with only Iwata airbrushes. David has never looked back and has now airbrushed on everything from tailgates, hoods, tool boxes, motor cycles, even a set of entry doors for a house along with a toilet seat.
