Hello and welcome to Speak Easy, Customs and Classics. We are a new shop starting out that we're going to be doing custom Cadillacs and designing them in a Cadillac way and keeping true to their Cadillac design. My partner Mike was a design major and when he was in college he studied Cadillac design. So we've got a nice little niche there that we're going to be working on. Today we're going to be talking about our 1949 Coup De Ville. It's the first year of the Coup De Ville, the 49. It was a late model for Cadillac. They only made 2,150 of them. So we actually own two of them. T As you can see we've already separated it from the frame. The body from the frame and we've got the body up on the rotisserie. Over here you can see the frame. It's going to need a lot of work. We're going to be doing a bare metal 1949 custom Cadillac with a custom interior. We're going to probably be keeping the original engine, maybe modifying it slightly, but we're having a lot of fun with t We're trying to figure out right now if we're going to be able to bare metal the frame as well or if we're going to go ahead and just paint it. We'd Today I'm going to be doing another video shortly about reinforcing the body. We're going to be putting in some reinforcement bars here across the doorways and across the interior so that we can start rotating there's a lot of metal work that needs to be done. We need to get started on that. If we're being able to rotate it's going to make it much easier for us to get to it without having to lay on the floor and weld upside down and stuff Plus, we're going to be doing t So it's going to help us clean it. The firewall, we're also determining whether or not we're going to paint that. There'some question about whether or not we're going to paint the firewall and keep that bare metal. We're going to be working on getting that cleaned up either way. We need to clean it up, get it ready. We're going to probably close up some of the holes that were there. We're not using everyt So we want it to look nice and clean. Let'see, what else can I talk about in t We're also going to be putting it on an air ride suspension. So that's part of why we have the frame off to make that job easier. We want to make sure we get it in there right and looking nice and neat. It's not sloppy. So actually we have Tony. T He's working on some of the parts taken off. Right now he's dismantling the brake system. We're going to redo the entire brake system, put all new lines in. And we are going to keep the original dr But that might be a later addition after the project's already done. I hope you enjoyed it.
