Firefighters in Patucket race to a fire at a local business here. But along with the flames, they were also battling the cold. I with the news reporter Shino Loschutos in Patucket tonight with the Blast Stone Valley mobile newsroom. Now as were on scene here at the fire, you could barely tell what was going on. There was so much smoke. Now the battalion chief says crews were still able to work fast, despite the challenges the weather brought. Officials work to break glass windows at this auto body shop on Wheaton Street in Patucket as flames continue igniting on the roof and heavy smoke fills the air. The call came in around six o'clock Tuesday night. By the time an engine got there, the battalion chief says the entire building was on fire. Everybody's outside. Nobody went in. Now we're inside cautiously, hitting some hot spots. Officials tell us part of the building even collapsed. All crews in Patucket were called to the scene, plus some from North Providence. While they were fighting flames, they were also battling mother nature. Sidewalks were already extremely icy. In the winter time this weather is always a struggle. Water and cold don't mix very well, The cap to a fire hydrant was even frozen at one point, according to the battalion chief. Were resourceful and put the exhaust of one of our rescues on it, thawed it out and were able to get a water supply from there. Everyone was able to make it out of the auto body shop safely. Crews say it's unclear if any cars there are facing damage. The guys did an excellent job considering the weather conditions and what we had to deal with and the amount of fire that we had on scene. Thankfully there were no injuries reported. Firefighters were also able to stay safe. The cause of this fire remains under investigation. Reporting in Patucket, I'm Sheena Loschuto. I win this news.
