Cooper's Automotive Collision And Repair

It's a year long program and each nine weeks is a level. We start out level one and go to level four. So level one and two is kind of A kid can come into this program not knowing anything about automotive. He can get his OSHA 10 certification. He can get up to 24 iCar certifications and stop the bleed by the time he graduates with the chance to go out on a paid internship in an area business. We start out in refinishing. That's kind of putting the last thing first but we have to learn about refinishing in order to complete a structural project that we're working on. So refinishing incorporates from paint mixing from code with different toners that come up with one specific color. They learn how to apply that color. They learn how to apply base coat on top of the color. They learn how to get it prepped and ready to go out to the customer. They also have an opportunity to learn graphic designs on different airbrushing techniques and then we move on to the non-structural side of it and that's whenever you have a damaged vehicle, you have a dent, you have a b I teach them how to weld metal shape hammer and dolly methods just to bring that damaged area back to OEM specs. The tools that we use are top of the line. They're snap on, our paint gun, we use our waters. They are top of the line. I picked this class because I know that there's always going to be jobs and I definitely feel lucky because I'm learning a lot here and people don't have the same opportunities as me. I would My father was a mechanic. I was always in the shop when I was younger. He would just take me to work, show me how to do stuff and that'something that's always been a passion of mine, a dream. So that's what I want to do, following his footsteps. It's real equipment. It's You get a good job, you get certificates for free that cost money if you didn'take it here. I think it's one of the best programs I've ever had in my life. It's a great opportunity for the kids to be exposed to what's out there and it just gives people that opportunity.
