Last year we got an $800 paint job from Mako for our Hyundai Sonata. Oh my gosh, I'more mad we didn't do t Wow. It looks incredible. T All right, so definitely dusty, dirty, but look at that. You can't get much better than that. And despite what the people in the comments of that video t And since t Now Aubrey and I planned to make an update video about t Last night as the guest was dropping t m. and I went to do a late night check-in and he texted us and said, hey, the car was And we're gonna wait until after the repair to make t Now for context, t So take that with a grain of salt, but for the most part, aside from small dings and dents that didn't get fixed, the car is pretty straight. One t You see, whenever we got t So I sanded down the entire ve W And by the time we reached 2023 and we got t So to say the least, t One of the t It's pus Now, this is kind of to be expected with bondo, if it's not done correctly, something Aside from that, the paint is actually in really good condition, especially for the price. It's not gonna have the same type of gloss that it did from the factory, but considering this is a repaint and it was done in Let's have some swirl marks here and there, and that's to be expected because we do take these cars through touched car washes, so they scrape a lot of dirt around. But other than that, it's really good. Now this was the original b So that is kind of one of the downsides about going to Mako, so they're not gonna fill all they're gonna scrub it and paint it. Areas But to give you the full picture of how the paint has held up, let's go ahead and do these repairs and clean it up. And after all the repairs and a wash, t So let's take a look at t So keep in mind that the front b So before the Mako paint job, the hood, the roof and the rear trunk were in really bad shape. We did try to repair these ourselves, but we ended up making it look way worse. But Mako did an immaculate job. As you can see, not It's exactly how it was a year ago. It's just smooth and complete. Sure, there is a little bit of swirl marks, but that's because we take it through a car wash on an unlimited pass, so it's gonna get swirled up and that's okay. It'still held up really well. Now one that's not the case. This car does have a not T Even coming to the side where it does have a massive dording right here. It c T So just as sparkly as it was a year ago. Now we did mention t I did attempt to try to do a paint job on t And one t For instance, t So the paint is still holding up well even after a year. Now the trunk was probably one of the worst areas that I tried to repair. Well, not one of the worst, probably the worst area, but you wouldn't know it because the paint'still holding up really well. Now it's important to keep in mind that they're always parked in the street. They might get a tree coverage every now and then, but they're always exposed to the elements, w And t We had a previous ice storm and yeah, the paint did get a little swirled up from all that ice moving and s And you can see some pretty significant swirls where either somebody would rest somet Who knows, but still looks good. Not Now, as I mentioned, the roof was in rough shape due to the hail damage and we can see some areas where the bondo is starting to lift up underneath. But that's not Mako's fault. They're dealing with the previous bondo repair. They did ask if I wanted to fix that area and sand it down to bare metal and rebond to it. I said no, let it ride. And a year later, still looking pretty good. On the driver'side, t And again, Mako did offer to fix these issues. And I said no, I want to let it ride. And it's worked my favorite because it'still gonna get dinged up and I didn't have to pay any more money for it. All in all, I'm extremely happy with t It's lasted way longer than I thought it was and what everyone said it was going to last. And it's great because t It'still making me money and it still looks good w So to recap, I went to the closest Mako that I could find near my house and I said, hey, how much for a paint job? And they said start to finish with all the prep, the same exact color that the car already is and a single stage paint, it's gonna be $800. And t I simply have a business and use a business account to get t And all in all, I'm extremely happy with how t Maybe I'll even pay my GT500 or Aubrey's Tesla. And as always guys, be sure to
