Classic Car Club Of America

Hi, my name is Charles Falk. I'm a member of the Classic Car Club of America. I am speaking to you from the 50th annual Classic Car Show that's held at the Oakbrook Center Mall in Oakbrook, Illinois. For the 50 years that the show has been sponsored by the Greater Illinois Region of the Classic Car Club of America, which I'm a member of. The intent is to show the beauty of engineering, the cultural aspects of vintage cars and to encourage people who aren't already in the vintage car hobby or collective car hobby to think about it and to consider joining the ranks of the people who do have the cars. Our club is here to facilitate people who may indeed be interested in the cars or interested in maybe acquiring cars. You do not have to be a classic car or vintage car owner to be a part of the club. You can benefit from participation, even though I don't have a car, for example. But what happens is that as a member of a club, you get to participate in many structured activities throughout the year, one of which is the show. But we do cruises around the countryside. We do some overnight tours. We have special programs where you get to go in and see private collections, where you get to see restoration shops and do things that you would not be able to do if you were just an ordinary person walking around in the street. We also include in our activities cultural, historical events and activities. And we'really hopeful to be interested in the spouses of significant owners as well as the classic car owners. So all in all, it represents an opportunity to fellowship, for experiences that you do not get as an ordinary person, and to advance your interest in, your knowledge of vintage, collective, classic cars, and to also make some very good friends, which is an automatic fallout, I think, of involvement in club activities. So my suggestion, keep up with your interest in cars, vintage cars, other kinds of cars. Consider membership in a club
