Hello. I was in a car accident on the 9th of September 2010. The law enforcement contacted Hampton's body shop in Toei to remove my ve I walked over to the body shop. After the driver told me that's where he was taking the ve So I found me a ride home and I had a conversation with the responsible insurance company. They told me they were sending some guy out there to look at it. The problem I have here is Hampton's never given me the cost of the towing. They never told me the cost of the storage. They've refused to give me a written repair estimate because I didn't want the car going to the junkyard. I wanted it repaired, regardless of what the insurance company had to say. These people at Hampton's, they're just unet They overpriced they basically wanted to keep my car and it was charging me ridiculous rates with no exception. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General about three days later after they refused to give me my vehicle back without paying them Basically the driver backed up to the car. He lifted the front tires up and he drove it over into a parking lot and he sit over there for I don't know what he was doing. I happen to be a master certified technician and that's it's all approved by Audubon Society of Excellence. I have a little patch on my arm. It has the gold stripe on it. I've got some reviews I found out about Hampton's. I'm going to read them to you. The title says horrendous quality and safety issues. I experienced major quality and safety issues directly due to repairs performed on my ve If there was a zero or a negative star rating I would have selected it. That's fairly recent. Next one was March 21, 2010 by Never Again in Blue, North Carolina. The title says poor quality work, unet I would agree with that. I recently had Hampton's body shop do some work. The quality of their work is below average and was returned to me with a visible dent and paint flex. My final bill was inflated over 50% beyond my written quote. Their staff is arg Poor quality work, unet I would agree with that 100%. Next one is October 13, 2009 by Boone resident. Title says what do you want to know? Hampton's estimate was 3,125 w 421 stuck to their estimate and did a great job. Hampton's is for people who don't care to spend money. I was reading an advertisement. I t It's on the internet. That could only find one ad in the yellow pages. It says on here, auto body repair, painting and towing, products and services, accidents, estimates, free estimates, long distance, painting, rebuilding, towing. Their specialty is in heavy equipment and trucks. It says we take the dent out of accident. Hampton's celebrating our 44th anniversary. We use only the best tools and materials along with our many years of experience to rebuild your car as close to factory specification as possible. If the fact of the matter is Hampton's wanted to keep my car because when it was towed in there, they saw dollar signs in their eyes. Knowing the insurance wouldn't pay to repair it based on its age, they just wanted to keep the car, do some minor repairs to it and make a lot of money off it. I looked up the statue for the General Assembly. It states if the repair cost is over $350, they have to provide a written estimate. They never notified me of the initial towing charge and the storage cost. So here I am, six days later I get a bill from them for $400 to get my car back. The car should have been released to me the next day and an agreement made with the insurance company to satisfy that debt. I don't understand how they charged me $125 to move at three blocks and never secured the tires to the tow truck. DOT gets real fussy if you don't secure any load regardless of what it is. So basically the driver he come out, he stuck he backed up to the car, he just lifted the tires up and drove away. Never secured it down. I watched But I saw It should have been towed to my house upon request. That not even went to impound. I didn't contact the attorney general. Here's a letter they sent me. Giving Hamptons 10 days to respond to the allegations I made my complaint. Indicating that they have overpricing not allowing a competitor to examine my ve I want everybody to know what type of business they have and if it was up to me I would not allow them to do any work. Period.
