ok, why this Facebook page? All this Mercedes and parts? Believe me guys I never thought that I will end up in America and have 9 old Mercedes (update 13) on my lot. I like US cars and why should I have here a Mercedes? Because I am from Germany? Or because I repaired them in Germany and had a couple of them? I worked for some times for Iowa Mufflers and Brake saw a lot of crazy US cars but was always excited when something came in that I knew from my past, for example an old Mercedes :). Later I got to know Anselm (Herman the German) from St. Louis who restores and deals with Mercedes Classics since more then 25 years. When I was the first time in his business it was for me like for my daughter standing in a candy shop. Here was everything w116 6.9, w115, r107, w123, w108. so many different Mercedes out of 40 years in on place, in the middle of America, crazy. Then I worked for sometimes here in Des Moines at Mercedes Benz and enjoyed repairing this old cars, to talk to the owners that love their Mercedes, to hear the stories how long they had their Benz and what they were through. Sometimes over centuries always accompanied by their Mercedes. Because of personal reasons I changed my work place to Bascom Truck and Automobile and I love it. I work now on vans, trucks and cars but still when we get a Mercedes in I am still excited to work on. Herman the German wants to retire and I thought maybe to help to sell some of his crazy cars, to get more of them to Des Moines. Some phone calls and then the ball started rolling. A German friend of mine in California always wanted to have an r107, an SL, an convertible. I thought that he might buy one out of Anselms collection. He bought 4 and no he did not stop shopping, The idea is to make out of this 4 one r107 like he always dreams about and to sell the rest. Yeh and he likes to have an station wagon diesel because of the gas mileage and better usage then of an standard sedan that he has now. Why not? I can do that, I love to do that!! Thank you Marco that you believe in me! I sold my truck and the camper to get space, start to clean out the garage and because you never know maybe better to have some spar parts? I took a 16 feet truck and took "some" Mercedes parts from Anselm back home. We will never need all that for Marcos two cars, so I put a listing on Craigslist. I know that here in Des Moines is a small group of Mercedes enthusiasts that maybe interested in one or the other car or part. I would love to help and give advice in question that might come up in connection to this cars.
