What's going on YouTube? In today's episode Trevor got a new hood for What do we have here? So we got the advanced fiber concept Ram Air Hood for the Bronco. We're gonna get t She's all packed up and ready to go to the paint shop. All right me and the guys are here at Southern Peak Auto Body and we're gonna get the hood painted. Let's go. Just dropped the fiberglass hood off at the shop. Looks Costs just looking around 6 to 800 bucks depending on how much work they have to do on the fiberglass. So I'm pretty excited to see how t I t A few weeks after dropping the hood off at the shop, they call t So basically what they did is they sanded it down and got it really level. So that was super good to hear. But there'some other issues that weren't as normal. One of the issues that they were explaining to us was that t Another issue they were explaining to us was that there was multiple pockets inside of the fiberglass hood where the resin was still wet. So they had to extract that and then refiberglass that area. It's been a long drawn out process. I think we're standing at They had several issues when sanding down the fiberglass hood. Just filling all the pits and the holes from the factory. So we're heading there now and we should see how it looks here soon. I'm just gonna stop you again and say somet All right, so basically I mean But when we started to sand it, prep it to get it ready to paint. The fiberglass resin in certain spots was still wet. It wasn't even cured all the way. So we had to find all those spots, break them open, refiberglass those areas. Bodywork to the whole t I t And then we had to paint it. I'm gonna call it We basted it and did a whole bunch of sand into it and then clear coated it. And then sanded it out and just did one coat of base and one of clear. I mean t You're not gonna cut your fingers open on the edges and stuff. It was really odd. We don't normally get fiberglass products that have been clearly done. Yeah, yeah, definitely. I'm gonna put the surface. Yeah, that's pretty unacceptable. Yeah. Yeah, that does look pretty damn good. After everyt And we want to thank Southern Peak Auto Body for all the work that they did on the hood. Now, the question that After all the work that needs to be done to get t Of course, it's definitely possible that we got a defective hood from the manufacturer, but based on t And on top of that, this hood is very heavy, especially compared to the stock al T But overall, what do Let us know down in the comments below. All right, guys, so we finally got the hood back from the paint shop. It's been quite the adventure. It took about four months all said and done. Total cost was a bit more than we initially discussed. So for the hood itself, it was $1,500. Then after paint, it was another $1,200. So all said and done, we're at $2,700 for the hood. If you guys stay tuned, though, we have a new b It's gonna be put on the Bronco in the next coming weeks. So stay tuned for the b If you guys enjoyed this video, make sure to give it a
