Billy Briggs Racing Engines

Hey everybody, today we're at Billy Briggs Racing Engines and looking at some engines he's building for Johnson's Horsepower Garage. One of the cool things that I saw was this little feature and really they did this because this is a 1500 horsepower new Hemi engine and what they were seeing was that the block was distorting enough that they were getting a bunch of abrasion of the piston under the cylinder wall and so they needed to stiffen up this area because this coolant passage was open in a big V here. So what they do is they made these custom plugs and you can see they drive that plug in there and they got a special tool to put that in there they epoxied in and then they when they decked ahead they re-complete that surface and what they found is it's cured the problem of the block moving around just by putting these in all these coolant passages.
