At one time, a lot of small towns across Maine had them, a storefront where you could go in and order something from Sears instead of going to a mall hundreds of miles away. Well, today we learned that the last two Sears hometown stores in Maine are closing. One is located in Farmington, the other is in Caribou. The Bangor Daily News is reporting that both stores with sold Sears merchandise at deep discounts have begun liquidating their goods. The same thing is happening at more than 100 other Sears hometown stores in 35 other states and Puerto Rico.
