Who to Know? Local business leaders and their stories. Lisa and Gail are sisters and co-owners of Gills Appliances. They continue to grow this business while holding on to their strong family values. Gail and I literally grew up in the family business. We lived on the second floor of our original Gills appliance. We originally started in a small store on Wood Street in Bristol, and then we moved in 1976 to our current location, which is on Metacom Avenue in Bristol. We opened our second location in Middletown on Aquitainec Avenue. We feel that we have a good representation of each company on our showroom, so when people come in, it doesn't matter if they have a larger budget or a small budget. We can help anybody with any price or style that they want. In 2018, Gills kicked off Gills Loves Local, an initiative to support local businesses with events featuring local chefs, artisans and farms from around the state. It promotes them, gets people in our store as well to see what we offer and what we do. That may have not been to our store before. Our mission has never changed. We still incorporate the traditions of trust, integrity and value that our parents instilled in us years ago.
